Many of you are shouting he would be a “Bobi wine”, hilarious. Anyway, in this series, we will be discovering Uganda celebrities/ personnel (Bobi wine for today’s blog)in relation to wine types and brands (those we have in stock). It’s a crash course on learning and understanding wine through famous or popular celebrity comparisons.

As some of you might know, no two wines are the same, from the terroir, taste, aroma, flavor and body.

Our wine type subject for today is the NUP (National Unity Platform) president Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine. Many of you by now know of Bobi wine’s story, for those of you who don’t know it check Google, the internet is your friend.

A wine’s character is determined by its Terroir (from Terre” land”) terroir “a sense of place” is a word used to describe the environment factors that affect production of a wine in a vine yard, from climate to the soil to the elevation to the terrain.

Growing up from the ghetto, overcoming the daily challenges faced to dominate as a musician in Uganda and to currently becoming the voice of the unheard people as a young leader in Uganda’s politics. The poorest soils produce the best wines; the most important characteristic in identifying his wine type is his thick skin, enduring all he has gone through and still persisted to represent the unheard people, Bobi Wine is a Malbec wine (a red wine varietal).

Malbec wine is known for its deep purple color and full body. They are small and dark in color with very thick skins, producing a wine that has rich fruity flavors and medium tannin levels.

Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine isn’t just any Malbec; he would be a Coleccion Privada Malbec from the Bodega Navarro Correas Winery in Mendoza, Argentina. An international multi-award-winning Malbec wine, ranked in the top 1% Malbec wines produced worldwide, average +90 points score (out of 100).
